More than 100 positive cases of H1N1 in Maldives. Strong measures are being taken by the government to control the spreading of this flu. Few deaths are also reported.
Most of the schools, colleges are closed. There are some shortage of necessary products like hand rubs, face masks. Both private and government healthcare service providers are working day and night control the situation.
The Saudi King was due to visit Maldives on the 18th-25th of March which is delayed as per the latest news.
The number of people who tested positive for swine flu is now above 100, announced Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Thursday.HPA’s statistics late Wednesday had reported 82 cases of people infected by the H1N1 virus. With the latest report, the number has increased by 24 in less than a day. This amount is also significantly higher than the 16 cases of swine flu reported over the past two years.

Sad that the Saudi King’s Visit is delayed – Lots of preparations were going on and this was much awaited one with lots of financial / infrastructural agreements planned to be signed during this visit. Hopefully this would not effect the planned projects and investments.
