The best diet for gaining / maintaining right weight for a daibetic

There are lots of confusions among the diabetic people on if they have honey as a sugar replacement, can they have fruits like Mango and Jackfruit without spiking the blood glucoses? The problem is that there are tons of unverified information when you do a google search. Many information are without any studies or data.

Honey

Honey is a very good food if you get it in the natural and pure form. Honey is known to have lots of nutritional and medicinal values. If you search for home remedies, you will find honey good for everything.

Can diabetic people use Honey?

Now coming to the question, what happens if a diabetic person use honey as a sweetener or part of diet?

Honey has low glycemic index compared to white sugar, so it is definitely better than white sugar. Other than the glycemic index, honey is rich with vitamins and nutrients, but honey is a dense source of carbohydrates of which the majority are in the form of glucose and fructose which are simple sugar and would spike your blood glucose level

Mango

Mango is a seasonal fruit and most of us love having it. A cup full of mangoes would have about 100 calories, no fat and 25 grams of carbohydrates. Other than these mango is a good source of other vitamins and antioxidants.

Can Diabetic People use Mangoes?

Mango has a glycemic index of 56 which is ok for diabetic person, but in a moderate way. You should keep in mind that mangoes have fructose and glucose which would elevate your blood glucoses.

To conclude, if you are diabetic, you can have mangoes, but in a moderate level.

Jackfruit

Jackfruit is another seasonal fruit and has good nutritional values and loved by most of us.

Can diabetic person have Jackfruit

Jackfruit is rich with fibre, protein and carbohydrates. The glycemic index of jackfruit varies from 15-65 depending upon the stage of ripening. A raw or an unripe jackfruit would have a glycemic index of 15 and very well ripe jackfruit will have a glycemic index of 65.

Again you can have moderate quantity of jackfruit balancing your daily carbohydrate intake.
